Baby Hope
See Lily and Baby Hope!
I blogged several months ago about Lily, the black bear. She has a webcam set up by the North American Bear Center that tracks her hibernation. Lily gave birth while in hibernation as black bears do, and I've been keeping track of their progress. All along I've been able to hear sounds of the cub from time to time (amazingly human-like), but today I finally saw baby Hope!!!
Check out the webcam. You may have to sit through a commercial first. If Hope is not visible keep on trying! Adorable, adorable, adorable. Turn up the volume to hear her baby grunts and coos. So cool!

How khute!
I've been watching some bear shots on a friend's blog from KholWOOrado -
How awesome to see this!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Oh! how I wish for high speed internet - I so miss getting to watch things like this. Enjoy!
Lynn
PS - the puppy parent was very nice about being bit - this is not their first Scottie. You are so right about their mouths being the only thing they can grab with - I had never thought about it that way before.
That was awesome. I think I saw that place in Ely or it could have been another bear habitat. I have been to the wolfe center several times. I love Ely MN. It's a great place. My husband is from No. MN. when ever we get back there, we ALWAYS go to Ely!
Have a great day!

How cool, and I love the photo of the kitty and the doggy together checking out the squirrel.
Funny, but coincidentally I found my link, which I believe I got from you a while back, on my computer today. I was running out of time and haven't visited yet. Thanks for the reminder
Twinkie
the pupular poop ;)
How cool! Thanks for posting that!
I love these. Did you see Khyra's bird cam posts? I have seen some amazing footage from wildlife cameras...
We have black bear here in AR. They were hunted for their "grease" and, I think, almost became extinct in the area. Oil Trough, AR was/is a small place where they were hunted and marketed. I always feel better when I take the dog out at night when they are in hibernation...so as spring comes on, I don't venture too far from safety! Yes, they're here in the Village!
This is a fantastic site. I also watched an eagle site as the eggs hatched and the mama fed her young.
We will go on over & check out the webcam now. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the update Pat. I keep saying I'm going to check the webcam and then forget.

Isn't it amazing....our world of technology?? Thanks, Pat!
Thanks for visiting us, Pat, and know that we have enjoyed the Bear Cam at Ely, MN too. They are quite a way North and East of us though.
We will see you again soon, and will look forward to your friendship.

Hi!
I like your photo banner and totally agree with your sound bite. Usually I connect with people who are animal lovers easily.
I like Critter Alley and I'm following your writer's blog too. Funnily enough my plan is to set up a writers group and a reading group this year. No easy mission!!! I'm looking out for venues at the moment ... Easier said than done. Wish me luck! :)
