Return of the Unwanted Tenants
Unhappy over eviction notice, vowing revenge
We have a new project. It's called the Great Squirrel Relocation. Some may remember a blog from last year where we were having trouble with an over abundant supply of squirrels. They enjoyed our yard so much that they chewed holes in our siding and created cozy nests in the eaves of the house.
They're baaaaaaaack!
So once again we are trapping squirrels. Despite how annoyed I am at them, I won't let hubby dispatch them permanently. Instead, he good-naturedly (sometimes) takes them for a long drive to a park where they are set free to make a home in the trees where they belong.
Indy and Bogey are overjoyed. All those times the squirrels laughed at them. Ha! Who's laughing now?

I've never had a problem with squirrels and enjoy watching their antics in the back garden (I hope they stay away from the house). I do admire you and your husband relocating them.

Do they evFUR make it home before your husband does?

During the cold weather a few weeks ago, the squirrels were visiting the bird feeder and tipping it over--so I started throwing birdseed down on top of the snow on the deck--and they feasted! Fun to watch! But there were only two--and that's enough! Bless you for relocating the little beasts as opposed to, well, less charitable alternatives!
I feel for you. We are being swarmed this year. I may have to study your technique. :)
How do you get the little varmits into the cages??
My hubby plants extra tomato plants. He watches the squirrels rip him off and scurry down the fence with Big Boys as big as their heads.
As long as it's clear that no squirrels were harmed and they weren't I'm laughing with you! BOL Don't get my squirrels though. My M would get depressed and I'd have nobody to chase

Yep, squirrels can be a delight to watch but can become pesky little critters, especially when they're eating my apples! Nothing worked until we got Wes, our cat...much improved apple crop.
I would be happy to catch some for you ;-)
Wizz :-)
I feel for you, too. We don't have a lot of trees, so we get rabbits at my house. And they taunt the dog just because he's losing his eysight. I have very mixed feelings when the dog goes after them and misses.
