Bogey On a Writer's Work

Doing research for my novel

According to Mom, being a writer is not easy. I think she's wrong. To prove it, I plan to write a book. The title will be "My Life Behind Bars". Interesting, huh?

Personal experience is important in getting the feel of a story. But interviews are the real raw meat of creativity. That's where you find all the tasty tidbits to tantalize readers. There's no one who understands being behind bars better than Indy.

Me: "What's it like to spend time imprisoned while Mom is away from home? Come on, you can tell me. I need all the gritty details. All the agony, the loneliness, the angst. Don't hold back anything."

Indy: "It stinks".

"Okay. Maybe I'll settle for a short story instead."
