For Sale or Lease

Weekend housework, go away. I can come back and take care of you on another day! And just that easily, the dust will add another layer. I've got better things to do!

After days of heat and humidity, today is simply scrumptious. Sunny with a cool breeze and anticipated high of 82. Perfect for outdoor activities. In fact, it would be a crime to stay inside!

An outdoor activity I love but haven't done in a while, is horseback riding. I grew up wishing (frequently) for a horse. It never happened. I'm still not really in a position to get one, but there is another way.

If you live near a riding stable or boarding facility check on whether they lease their horses. That's a nifty policy that allows you to have one specific horse that is yours alone to ride, train, and enjoy. Conveniently, the animal's daily maintenance and vet care are still provided by the facility. You can visit as frequently as you wish. You will need your own saddle, bridle, and equipment. After all it's "your" horse for as long as you lease it! If you decide to lease, try and find a place that offers plenty of trails to ride. Otherwise you'll need a horse trailer for hauling your big baby to where the action is.

I have a friend who leased a horse for nearly a year. They bonded so well, that she ended up buying it. Pretty nifty way to get your horsey fix, isn't it?

I'm an aunt to two horses and while I don't ride them, I do like to go and sit outside with them and just hang out. They seem to like it (or maybe it's the mints, cookies, apples and carrots I bring them). I came over from the blog hop.

That is such a nice idea. Do you suppose we could rent or lease a cat to chase??!!

I, too, never made the commitment to a horse. I have been fortunate enough, up until the last couple of years, to have one to ride. I miss that

I love horses and how powerful they are, but they scare me for some reason. And the horse must have known it as it took off before I had any idea what I was doing and if I hadn't been a little smart and ducked when it went dashing through the woods, I would have been knocked out cold.

My momma was drooling over your post. She's been wanting her own horse for...ever, but since her daughter is an equestrian, guess what: simply can't afford two of those in our family. Nice suggestion for horse lovers though

I admire anyone who can ride a horse. We did a horseback tour in Jamaica and the poor guide had to guide my horse the whole way, my hands were sore when the tour was over from hanging on so tight.

That IS an interesting idea. I've been blessed by having been able to have horses during about 40 of my 57 years. I can no longer ride because of my back and hip, and because my old horse has a bad leg/foot, but I still enjoy going out on a pretty day and spending time with the two we have here. Most of ours from over the years Mike and I have been married, are buried out here in our pastures, having lived out their lives with us.

There's NOTHING better than being on the back of a wonderful horse on a beautiful, gently breezy day!

I'm like Lynn. I love horses. I think they're beautiful and majestic and I love to pet them....BUT! I rode horses a time or two in my younger years. The last time was when I was a teenager and I'm sure the horse did know I was afraid! It took off and was about to jump or run into a fence, when someone rode up and saved me! My hero!
(I'm so glad you were able to do somthing you love to do!)
