Book Blurb Friday-July 15

It's Book Blurb Friday at Writing in the Buff. Lisa has another terrific photo which we are challenged to imagine as a book jacket cover. Our job is to write the blurb for a book based on that cover. Here's my take on it:

The Bridge to Nowhere

How could things have gone so terribly wrong? During a simple game of "fetch" Katie's beloved dog, Sandy, scampered across the old footbridge and disappeared into the forest of Nowhere Island. Katie's parents had warned her for years about the mysterious activity on the island. They'd forbidden her to even go near the place. Tears puddled her eyes.

What should she do? Turn back and lose Sandy forever, or defy her parents and risk everything to find him?  Katie's decision will change the course of her family's life forever.

Oh my! Please hurry up and write this one, I'm dying to know what happens. I'm betting it doesn't involve leaving the dog behind...

Ooh, I bet I know what she decides to do! Love that there are so many conflicts here! Nice blurb.

Oh...going after Sandy, for sure. (I used to have a sweet Sandy-girl. She was a cute little Heinz-57, and I still miss her every day.) You just can't go wrong with a dog story. This will be a Disney movie. :)

Wow, very similar to Calico Contemplations, as you said.
I agree with Lisa, though, going after a dog is an excellent reason for disobeying. And now we have to know what happens.

I had actually considered the "bridge to nowhere" idea. But, I like how you worked it into yours. I'd like to see how it all ends.

It's a great blurb from quite a challenging prompt!

She had BETTER go after the dog!

Pat--If you're free on Aug. 6 Love a Golden (a Golden Retriever Rescue) is having a trivia night in St.Charles. Free beer and lots of fun. (Since our dogs are blondes, we make the questions not super-challenging.) You can go to www.loveagolden.com and check on events to get more information.

Hi there, you asked how the Thundershirt works & I thought we'd come by and tell you. It has velco to snug the dog in real tight & that does something to calm their central nerous system. For Oskar it worked immediately.

Hugs,
Pam

I'm sure she'll go for the dog, but I'd still want to read this!
