The Wedding

The bride and groom repeated their vows in front of this spectacular vista on a bluff at Mount Pleasant Winery. It seemed as though the fields behind them went on forever.

Although clouds covered both sun and sky in varying shades of gray, it wasn't a problem for us at all. The joyful emotions felt by each guest that witnessed the wedding on Sunday provided more than enough color for the occasion.

Sigh. Nothing beats a beautiful wedding. I have to admit a few tears slid down my cheeks during both the ceremony and the mother-son dance. Okay, so I'm hopelessly sentimental. Aren't all Moms? It's an emotional roller coaster when it comes to our kids. No matter how many years go by, we still agonize over their pain and feel feather-light over their happiness.

My little boy is now a married man. If I had wings, I'm pretty sure I could fly.

Awww. This is so sweet. Seeing your little boy into a grown man is such an accomplishment you should be proud of. Congratulations.

By the way, I wanted to tell you guys that I'm doing a dog book giveaway in my blog. The book's title is Follow the Dog Home and it's open to residents of continental US and Canada.

I didn't want any of my bloggy friends to be left uninformed so here's the URL http://www.mydogslove.me/2012/09/our-first-book-giveaway-follow-dog-home.html

Huggies and Cheese,

Congrats. It's difficult to explain to someone who hasn't gone through it, isn't it? My daughter was married a few years ago and on an already emotional day, I was shocked when I saw my younger son (who usually only wore baggy jeans and a t-shirt) in a tux. I didn't realize how grown up he was. I hope you have written down your feelings to put in their wedding album. I know how eloquent you are with words and I'm sure he will appreciate it.
