NaNo 2012--Winner!

It's now official. I validated my novel on the NaNoWriMo website, and received my "Winner" badge.

NaNo is the poster child event for a writer to find both agony and esctasy. Every available minute is spent tapping out words, feeling loads of self-pity, and seeing the computer keyboard as some sort of thought-sucking monster.

When you have to push hard toward any goal, it's not usually much fun. Yet once that goal is finally achieved, what a mighty feeling of accomplishment comes along with it. I'm glad I did NaNo again this year. I'm equally glad it's over.

In other writerly-type news, I received the contract today for a short story I wrote called "That Old Christmas Magic". It will appear in an upcoming anthology entitled, Fifty Shades of Santa, due for release around December 7.

Sounds interesting, doesn't it? I can't wait to read the "naughty or nice" stories filling that Christmas fishnet-stocking stuffer book!

Christmas fishnet stocking :)
Congratulations on 50 Shades. She said mine needed more humor. And my NaNo is up to about 10,100 ha ha. I don't think I will succeed, but I sure have a good head start. Kudos to you!

Congrats on NaNo as I know what that's like. I decided to skip it this year, but I kind of missed the discipline of doing it. I was unofficially doing it, but it wasn't the same. Congrats on your Fifty Shades of Santa!

Congratulations on getting your badge! We've never heard of NaNo (well, we hear No! quite often...), Mum will have to look into it next year!
