One of Those Days

This has definitely been a head-stuck-in-a-hanger day for me.

It started when I noticed that the black slacks I'd put on were really navy blue. Of course I didn't realize this fact until I'd already arrived at work. The black (and blue) ensemble screamed fashion faux pas. In my defense, the light in the closet is really dim. Hey, at least it wasn't one navy shoe and one black shoe. Oh, wait a minute...

I ignored my appearance and ran reports all day. And found errors in them. And located and fixed errors in them. And ran reports again. And found more errors. And ran reports again. And found...well, you get the picture. Two steps forward, one step back.

Luckily lunch time came along. Oops! Forgot my lunch. Oh well, that's why I keep a supply of popcorn around. I really didn't mind that a faulty microwave scorched it. Thanks goodness the smoke alarm didn't go off...at least not for long.

Our cloud-filled rainy day matched my mood. As soon as I could, I bolted for home. Now I'm snuggled in my comfy clothes sipping hot apple cider and munching a big fat cookie while Indy and Bogey are at my feet scouring the floor for crumbs. Ahhhhh.

During trying times like these there really is no place like home.

Mommy says our house has dim lights too -- she can't tell the black from the blue either sometimes!!! Mommy's ate burned popcorn before too -- been there, done that!

LOL, Pat! We all have days like that! I have to keep my socks sorted in zip-lock bags--black and navy--and hope that, when putting them in pairs from the dryer, I made the right matches! Just another perk of getting older!

Isn't it typical that when something goes wrong in the morning, it is like a chain reaction and just keeps going, gahhh!

You made me laugh. Years ago one of my co-workers routinely dressed in the dark so as not to awaken her husband. She had two pairs of the same shoes--one pair in navy and one in black, and she came to work with one of each. LOL We couldn't even fib and tell her no one would notice. It was SO obvious! :)

There's no place like home. Oh, and I've gone to work wearing one black and one Navy pump--twice.

Retirement is a good thing.
