In a recent burst of energy, I painted my bedroom. Not a single day and done, mind you. I work cheap, but not fast. In all, it took about three weeks for each wall to sport a soothing sagey-green color. I put away the paint cans and decided to treat myself to a brand new picture for the wall.
I've loved the Andrew Wyeth print, "Master Bedroom" for a long time, so I ordered it on line. The cost was reasonable and delivery fast. Not more than fifteen minutes after its arrival, I raced to Hobby Lobby where I pondered over mats and frames of every color and shape. I made my choices and signed on the dotted line.
Only one week and a couple of hundred dollars (gulp) later, I had the finished product in hand. Don't you just love the dog all curled up with his head on the pillow? Awww....
Hanging pictures (especially when they're heavy) is not one of my best skills. If somebody offered me a million bucks, I simply can't do it. No matter how carefully I measure, it ends up either too low or too high. Don't tell anyone but this picture is hiding several "oopsie" holes.
The good news is despite all my grunting and groaning and hammering, Indy and Bogey became quite inspired by our new acquisition.
Well, isn't that what a master bedroom is for?
May each of you have an equally relaxing (and safe) Labor Day weekend!

Mommy has lots of "oopsie" holes under the pictures in our back room too - don't feel bad! We like the term "oopsie" holes -- funny!
Looks lovely. Have a fabulous Friday and a great long weekend.
Best wishes Molly
I'm glad there is someone else in the world who can't hang pictures, ha.
It is Bogey's divine right to take over your bedroom and everything else you own :)

I love that painting as well. Love your choices, the mat matches the bedspread perfectly!
Very nice paint job and painting! Love the photos of your pups on the bed!
Pat--I have always loved that print. The mat you chose looks great--really complements the artwork.
I am lousy at hanging things, too. There are lots of "oops" holes all over my house.
Oh Pat, you did a wonderful job! And I love that print, too. Gee, don't you have someone to help you hang those heavy items?? I'm the one that stands back and says, "No, a little higher. Not that high. A little to the left. Okay. Good! Stop! Right there! :)
Good choice. I'm putting finishing touches with my bedroom too. It took me a while to find pictures I liked and I decided to distress the frames so it was time consuming. A suggestion for hanging pictures: Cut out paper the size of the frame. Attach it to the wall with masking tape and when it's level, use a pencil to mark where you need to put in the hook.
Hope you enjoy your new room, it looks very restful.

You are so ambitious. The print looks great, and I bet your painting job does too.
Awww. Love those snuggly real-life pictures, and love your print and wall color. Wish that energy burst of yours were contagious....
Ha ha I understanad oopsie holes and ususally stuff them with Kleenex. I love that picture!
A beautiful job and a beautiful print. My hubby is a fan of Wyath's (probably spelled that wrong) and we have several hanging in our home.
Happy Labor Day!
Hugs,
Gorgeous print. And I have a sneaking suspicion your fur-babies didn't need any inspiration for their snooze locations! :)
What a lovely room! And so relaxing too -- your babies look very comfy!
