Well, Blogger Buddies, on Saturday that's exactly what happened for me.
While making the bed I heard a faint scratching noise from outside. I couldn't see a thing through the window, so I stepped out the back door. On the corner of the rooftop I saw something hideous.
I went into the yard and found this...
and this on the other side...
Once again, some really rotten rodents (aka squirrels) have decided it would be a great idea to remodel my house for themselves. We went through this three years ago when squirrels chewed a huge hole in our soffit to build a cozy nest. This act of war resulted in the Great Squirrel Relocation Project of 2011. Looks like we're the victims of another attack, so we're on to the second World War.
As far as squirrels go, I've been live and let live. I don't care how many hang out in the yard. But taking over my house is more hospitality than I'm willing to offer.
The trap has been set and baited. I hope that dratted squirrel will be chewing on something far, far away from me and my house.
This is war, Squirrels. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Hey Mom, there's a tree rat in the back yard pointing at us and laughing.

Oh no!!! I don't blame you a bit!
Love the tag line!!
Lol. As cute as squirrels are, that is how much they can damage.
Coming right over to help you out. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly Squirrel Hunter.
Pat--We had squirrels in our attic. We had to sit outside their "entrance" and wait until they left in the morning, and then boarded up the hole.
Good luck. They're wily creatures.
Oh those tree rats! We are barking so loud -- hope those tree rats hear our bark and they get scared and go far away from your house!
It must have been all those house remodelling shows they watch on your tv. Can just see them sitting on the windowsill jotting down ideas and measurements :)
You are very kind to take it in such good part Pat, other people would have found a much less pleasant solution.

Tree Rats are EVIL and VILE and VICIOUS. You MUST rid your estate of them.
Varmints. I hope you can get rid of them. I know a friend who has raccoons. Varmints!
Tree rat! MOL! Hope you get that little rodent relocated soon. -Daffodil, Chloe and Cheerio
You better let the tree rat know you mean business

Destructive little devils when they want to be. So sorry this is happening to you, and I can't blame you for trying to trap them.
We've had this same problem. And then there's the story where... well, it's too long, but you reminded me of something to write about!
Glad you said "live trap" : )
Squirrels and mice can be very annoying. We had a family of Ermines living in our cabin attic once...what a mess they made!
Been there, too, Pat. We had one squirrel so smart and wily I named him Albert Einsquirrel. Good luck with your battle!
Too funny!! Sorry, but it IS funny, because you wrote it so well! :)
Good luck taking your home back!
I, too, admire them from afar. But once inside, well, that's a different story!
I'm with you. Where wild critters are concerned, I draw a line at my doorstep. And rooftop. Good luck!
oh dear! I hope you win!
