What's New With You?

Indy and Bogey...yep we're all still here.

It's been a weird few weeks. It all started when I ended up on the floor (literally) in the wee hours of the night with severe stomach pain and other symptoms I can assure you that you don't want to hear more about. Three doctor visits, one CT scan and one colonoscopy later, I was diagnosed with ischemic colitis. Yikes! I never even knew such a thing existed, and if I never experience it again, it will be too soon. In most cases it doesn't come back (although with my luck, who knows?). I finished a round of heavy duty antibiotics and am now on a "low residue" diet for two weeks. That means no fiber, spice, fruits, vegetables, or anything I like. In other words, I'm basically living on bread, water, and applesauce. You'd think I was doing time in the state penitentiary or something. Oh well. At least I'm feeling human again. Funny how you don't appreciate feeling good until you don't.

But there are fun things happening, too. Some of you may remember the beautiful Christmas proposal my daughter received from her boyfriend. At the time it seemed as though the wedding was eons away. But the big day will arrive on Saturday. The next few days will be a flurry of last minute details along with prayers for good weather, since they plan to get hitched on the seventh hole of the Club golf course. Ah, young love.

That's a taste of what's been going on in my life. I'm eager to catch up and will be visiting your blogs soon. What's new with you?

Pat--I'll keep my fingers crossed that Saturday is perfect for your daughter's wedding.

Are Bogey and Indy going to be ring-bearers? ;)

It SOUNDS like you might have the makings for a Chicken Soup story (they have a call out for mom stories), with all the wedding preparation and the ceremony itself. Think about it...

Enjoy the day. I'll be thinking of you and your family.

I'm so sorry about your health issues! I've been a mess since Mabel passed (May 8th) and haven't been visiting blogs like I should.

I hope the wedding is wonderful!!!

Gosh Pat, I hope you're feeling much better - that sounds awful... and sounds like you're well enough just in time for the wedding. Best wishes to the couple. And I'll say a prayer for good weather too! And for you! Take care.

That tummy bug thingy sounded horrible. Glad they figured out what it was and could give you medicines. Oh and the golf course wedding sounds pawsome! Congratulations

I hope you are on the mend and feeling much better. I had that once and the only way to describe it is that it felt like a horse had kicked me in the stomach.

The weather should be beautiful and the wedding will also. Post lots of pics for us.

That must be so awful for you Pat. I have heard of it but don't know much about it. Hope you are feeling better very soon and can at least eat something :(
Hugs, Lynne x

OMG - you and I have almost the same thing. I have regular Colitis and am going thru a bad period right now. I so want something good to eat - mashed potatoes (nothing on them), toast with a little jelly, and applesauce just doesn't fill one up!
