Biden Comes in First

photo from www.gotpetsonline.com

At picking a dog, that is. It seems that the Vice-President elect promised his wife, Jill, a dog after the campaign ended. No shelter dog here. Reports today indicate a male German Shepherd puppy has been given the nod.
Now I'm certain that the Bidens did their homework and selected the perfect fit for their family, but get this...
The pup will not join them until after inaugeration. In the meantime, the breeder will train the little guy. Now I understand delegating duties and everything, but isn't training part of the bonding experience? So what if there's a little mishap here or there on the carpet. Can't be worse than the political dirt running rampant that requires some serious clean up.
Oh well. The German Shepherd is a noble breed with a proud reputation. And I'll bet Biden enemies will think twice before bringing any kind of treachery into his house now!

I don't know much about training dogs--Lady has trained ME--but I'd tend to agree with you. Good luck to them!

I agree with you, Pat. The older the pup is when you get them, the tougher bonding can be. My Ben was 16 weeks old and I struggled to train him for a while.
