Gidget, the chihuahua spokesdog for Taco Bell, died at the age of 15 on July 21. The small pup made a huge impact, practically renaming the breed, "...You know, a Taco Bell dog!"
After her advertising star faded a bit, Gidget got a small part in the movie, "Legally Blonde". According to her trainer/owner, she had become so typecast from her work with Taco Bell that it was hard for her to get other roles. I suppose a lot of human actors can relate to that problem, too.
Adios, Gidget, we'll miss you. See you at the Rainbow Bridge!

She was a sweetie. Hope they have her favorite taco at the Rainbow Bridge! (I love the Rainbow Bridge scenario--our beloved four-legged family members deserve the best while we have them with us and ever after. Right now, I'm a bit misty-eyed thinking of Felix the Cat and Jacque Dum-Dum and picturing them frolicking in a rainbow-lit field somewhere!)
