Feather Fight Part 2

Battered but undefeated

Here's how I found the peacock feathers. Knocked down and dangling over the phone. Not what I hoped to see, but certainly not what I feared would happen, either. While surveying the damage, Bogey strolled by, with extra wide cat eyes.

"Who could have done such a thing, Mom?"

"I can't imagine, Bogey, but do let me pull off that feather tucked behind your ear."

Anyway, after being uprighted, a few feathers had broken stems. Several lost their previously perky appearance. All the feathers are droopier now, looking rather like a peacock would after standing in a good hard rain.

But they're pretty. And inspirational. And decorative. So I'm still determined to keep them around.

Of course, that's assuming they're able to survive Bogey.

They certainly do look like cat toys, don't they. I wonder how many bats and swipes it took Bogey to knock that over. For that very reason I can never have flowers of any kind in my house - fake ones included!

Score: Bogey 1- humans 0
I repeat: The wall, the wall. Somewhere out of reach. You're going to lose this battle :)

The joys of having pets. I couldn't figure out why I had little perfectly round muddy spots all over the carpet and then I found an old tennis ball my dog had dragged in and was dropping it and catching it!
By the way, yes I did take the butterfly pictures that are on my blog. I have a Kodak Z710 with a 10X - I've been very pleased with it but it's a bit heavy and cumbersome to lug around. The pictures turned out good despite the humidity in the conservatory.

Could you trick Bogey and put some nice, long rose stems there...that haven't been "de-clawed"?! :o

Two things I think of when reading about Bogey and the feathers. One is of how frightened my oldest daughter was at the Audubon Zoo of an approaching peacock as she sat helplessly in her stroller. These are BIG birds you know! And two is that I've had a number of cats over the years who have displayed typical Bogey playfulness and how Wes, our present cat is so reserved. Thank goodness, because I get really peeved at ripped mattress ticking. Wait! Wes HAS done that!

By the way, your banner pic looks great!

They don't look too bad yet! Just don't put them over a vent so that the feathers floof tauntingly...!

I have to go to my son's house for my 'cat fix'. I miss my old kitty everytime I read about yours. Cute picture.
