Some Observations on a Snowy Night

Isn't it nice to know there's someone to keep an eye on you? Bogey is my shower snoopervisor, er, supervisor. He ensures that the water temperature is comfortable, that I scrub behind my ears, and that I don't take a slippery dive to the floor. What a helpful guy!

Meanwhile, I may soon need a warm shower. There's more snow on the way. Snow...the four letter word that none of us welcomes. It seems as though we've already had more than our fair share. Tonight the streets have turned white, and according to the weatherman, the heaviest stuff won't even come until later.

I look out the window and wonder at how even a small amount of snow seems to slow life down to a crawl. Outside the temperature is frigid, but inside it's warm and snug. It feels good to sip a cup of hot chocolate without even a thought of leaving the house. Tomorrow may be a travel nightmare, but tonight, things are good. I can feel my body literally melt into the couch.

And perhaps in today's world of bad news, stress-filled schedules, and frantic racing from one place to the next, the arrival of another round of snow isn't such a bad thing after all.

Bogey is an adorable "supervisor!" It sounds as if you are having a cozy evening... Snow can be so relaxing, the way it makes the world quiet.

I wish we all had time to enjoy the snow instead of always having to be racing around fighting through it.

Cute supervisor. I call Mabel my "stupervisor!" when she was a pup, I had to leave the shower door cracked. She thought I left her!

Great photo. How sweet.

The snow is lovely. Both grandkiddos are off because of the snow, so I'm glad I don't have to drive in it.

Bogey's skills, supervisorial and otherwise, are pretty darn amazing!

What would we do without Bogeys in the world?

I love this post, and this thought. I am so glad you could take a moment to just "be" for a little while, regardless what was going on outside the door. We all need that and don't do it enough.

Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, falling snow has a way of making all of life appear in slow motion. And your kitty up on top reminded me of a time mine walked on my headboard and fell on my face during the night.

I had a kitty like this one when I was a little girl. It brought back some sweet memories. My hubby is super allergic to cats so memories are what I have. Another observation about snow is how bright the night can be. The lights and moon reflecting off the snow makes the surroundings look beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

You have the most delightful pictures. Our temperatures have dropped but not much more than a sprinkling of the white stuff this side of Dallas.

I'm in the group who want to know how in the heck Bogey got up there! He's got skills!
I love it after a big snowfall. All sound is muffled as you walk through the woods with your dog. Ryker will go to tug on a bush trying to find a stick for me to throw and the heavy load of snow will dump on his head! It's nice for a change but our winters just last too long and summers are to short!

Yes, and now experiencing extreme stages of cabin fever since it began snowing here in November ... and hasn't stopped ... Your post reminded me how much my pets mean to me.

Your mention too of hot chocolate just set the mood ... so am off to the kitchen, then to settle in a cozy house surounded by guinea pigs (who are indoors for the winter) and my goofball dog. Thanks :)

I think snow can be nice as long as it doesn't get too much (which it has right now), there is a layer of ice etc. And can you stay inside it's even better.

Your shower stall/wallpaper look identical to mine--um, except for the cat, of course! Lady can't quite make it up there, although she likes to come into the bathroom with me when I shower!
