Happy Cinco de Mayo

It's Cinco de Mayo! Strange how popular this holiday has become in the United States. By some sources, it's celebrated more here than in Mexico, and I'm not surprised. Who wouldn't love an excuse to eat tacos, burritos, chimichangas, and nachos?

Today some will celebrate with friends in Mexican restaurants that will burst at the seams...as will their patrons once the party is over.

If you're planning to join the fun, here's my world famous recipe for margaritas. It's been tried, tested, and approved by many, and don't let the ingredients fool you. It DOES taste like a margarita!

Beer Margaritas

1- 12 ounce can of frozen limeade
1- can water (or white soda for a sweeter taste)
1- can Tequila
1- 12-ounce beer
1- lime
ice

Put the frozen limeade in a pitcher (not a blender). Use the can to measure water and Tequila. Add to pitcher. Add 12 ounce beer. Stir well.
Use lime slice to wet rim of glass, dip in salt, if desired, before filling glass with ice. Pour drink mixture over ice and enjoy.

Be careful...it's potent!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Ole!!

ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMER FROM INDY:

Anyone who has Mom's drinky-thing should DEFINITELY have a DESIGNATED DRIVER! Or better yet, stay home to party like I do!

Love that last picture! I hear St. Paddy's Day is more of an American holiday than an Irish holiday. I guess we just like to celebrate!
