Another Battle

I finally broke down and bought a new Christmas tree. Here it is, all "spruced" up and ready to go. Putting this tree together was so much easier than the old tree, which had to be assembled branch by branch. This one is like an umbrella consisting of three poles that fit together one at a time. The branches fall into place. No need to add any lights...this little beauty has them built right in!

Of course, putting up the tree brings a familiar complication.

Bogey...hard at work performing his de-decorating duties. Oh yes, we've been there before. I've tried every possible solution to keep him away from the tree in past years. None of them has been successful. Bogey doesn't listen to anyone, least of all me.

But now I have hope. I won the battle of the curtains. I'm sure I can prevail in the war to preserve the Christmas tree!

Mom vs Bogey. Here we go again...

Best of luck! I know that we were eventually able to convince the cats to leave the tree alone. And then we got a young dog... we're skipping the tree this first year, LOL.

Mommy ties our tree to the ceiling. That what when me climbs it, it does not fall over!

Beautiful tree but I think you will need good luck to stop Bogey taking the decorations off :-) love from Magic xx

Your tree looks gorgeous!
Bogey, you are a tinker, hee hee.
When we first got married we had 2 siamese cats. I used to have to pick up the tree and redecorate it about 19 times a day, they thought it was heaven!

BaaaaaWAAAAAHHHHHHH ... All "SPRUCED" UP... NOW THAT IS FUNNY!!!

I can see it now... Your Spruced Up Tree... all covered with Contact Paper....

Maybe if you just cut out some Gingerbread and Star Shapes and Stick Those on..?????

Ha, I like Frankie's idea of the contact paper shaped into ornaments. Good luck!

Well, he is the king of his kingdom and believes it is HIS tree. Beautiful tree by the way.

Very nice tree! I'm surprised there was no contact paper around the tree.

I debated whether to put a tree up this year as I look after my 10 month old granddaughter during the day. I finally did and she has a great time trying to get the cat out from underneath the tree skirt. So far the tree has stayed upright but there are no ornaments on the first two feet of branches.

OMD! We have that GusGus ornament too and mama said that her old cat, Chuck, used to box him off the bottom of the tree every year. She's find him under the table or couch...rarely on the tree where he belonged. Bol. Your tree is pretty.

Hi Pat - There is a product called Ssscat that I wrote about on my blog last week. It has worked great at keeping the kitties off my kitchen counters, and we'll probably pick up a couple to put under the tree, too. :) Our older cats aren't too much of a problem, but our kitten, Luna, will probably try to climb the tree. We're expecting a disaster. LOL
