Hello Sunshine

We turned the clock forward Saturday night. I don't know about you, but I'm still trying to adjust to the time change. I can't figure it out. How can the loss of one tiny hour cause such complete exhaustion?

Maybe there's more than meets the eye to sixty minutes. It isn't long enough for a marathon, but one hour does provide plenty of time for more modest achievements. Let's see. I could stain a mirror. I could weed junk from the basement. I could weed junk from the garden. I could fly a kite. I could read. I could write an essay or outline a short story. I could take a walk.

Perhaps there's a better reason for daylight savings time than reducing energy costs. It's a gift in disguise that gives us time to do a little something special. And that could be the start of something big.

What will you do with your extra hour of daylight?

By the way, if writing is on your goal list, here's some great news. There are many submission opportunities in the "Not Your Mother's Book" series. Essays chosen will be similar to Chicken Soup essays, but with a little extra sass. To learn more, check out the blogs of my writer friends Dianna Graveman and Linda O'Connell who are collecting and editing stories for two of the books. You can do it! Remember, you now have an extra hour!

OH I soooooo hope that Mayzie's Mom sees this post. She just started a new WRITING thingy!!

What I wonder about is why we don't feel all REFRESHED when we get the hour BACK in November???

I don't care much for daylight time. I miss the way it was starting to be light in the mornings. And i always wonder what my dog makes of it, with me suddenly doing everything an hour early. He has a marvelous sense of time, and he must think I am a real dork to mess with our routine!

I wish that whoever is stealing the hour thing would stop it.

We're so glad we don't gain or lose an hour. Sounds like it takes a little time to adjust.

We got an extra hour? Where did it go? Although I do love the sunshine we've had of late.
