What's wrong with this picture?
I'll tell you what's wrong. We live in the Midwest, not on the equator.
Today's temperature surpassed 107 degrees, and it's not looking much better in the days ahead. Sure wish we could get below triple digits. Funny, who'd ever think "only 99" would be a good thing?
The grass is brown. The flowers are fading and limp. We haven't had rain in a long time. No hope of it on the horizon anytime soon either.
Do you remember the film, The Rainmaker? Burt Lancaster turned a doubting Katherine Hepburn into a believer and helped her understand that having a dream is a wonderful thing. We could use that kind of magic...along with a rumble or two of thunder.
In the absence of our own personal Starbuck, both critters and peeps are staying inside in the a/c. And that's the way it should be. We certainly don't want to have any tragedies like this:
Stay home. Stay cool. Stay safe.

We're hot to, but you win in the heat department. We've topped out at 101, I don't even want to know what 107 feels like. Stay cool friend.

I wish we were too hot, in England our summer is wet and cold, again, another cold wet year, it's too much for schnauzers, too much. W need a teeny bit of sun and NO more RAIN :)

We had hot...but not that hot! We got the doggie pool out and gave the doggies a bath outdoors to keep them cool.

I think we can tell the UK bloggers by their weather woes hahaah, our summer is a wet, windy & cold one, we'd love a bit of heat now, can we please have some sun, pretty please :)

Hot in Arkansas, too! Poor Lady can't lie out on the drive in the mornings to keep an eye on the neighborhood, and she can't ride in the car with me if I have to make a stop and get out for an errand. But she seems to realize that her pillow inside in front of the sliding glass door is the way it is for now!
Holy Moly! And we has had the coldest June on record! And me lives on the Canada US border just north of Washington!
