Fourth of July Blues

Dear Neighbors:

I love the Fourth of July as much as anyone. It's wonderful to celebrate our country and the freedoms we enjoy. But do we really need to do it via explosions that have rocked the street pretty much non-stop since, say, about July 1 and continue (so far) through last night?

It's not only loud, but a little scary, too, since the grass and plants are dry as tinder. I have my hose hooked up and read to go just in case anything gets out of control, but still...

We love you all, but please, please, pack up the bombs until next year so our house can get back to normal. Bogey keeps glaring at the door with his tail poofed bigger than a feather duster and I'm not sure how much longer Indy can wait for a potty break. He could totally have his own explosion any minute.

Thanks for understanding,

Pat

You are so right!!!! Mommy was just telling a co-worker yesterday about the grass being so dry everywhere, and how even a kiddie sparkler could potentially be dangerous since the grass is so dry.

AMEN Sister!! That mean I agree VERY much. The loud noises don't seem to bother me. But I know it scares some of my friends. And don't get me started with the dangers of the dry stuff. We have all kinds of wild fires going on right now where I live.
Blessings,
Goose

I'm with you, Pat. I love fireworks on the fourth of July, but not the entire month of July. And our dog doesn't like them, either.

I SOOOOOO agree.. butt BUCKY, being Chief of Fire and Emergency, is no doubt on duty.
It is dry as tinder here too and fortunately.. there have been very few.. HOME fireworks displays.

It's so tough on our pets. I don't like like it either and wish they would stop shooting them in neighborhoods. They are supposed to be illegal in WI, but people shoot them off anyway.

Yep, that's what I say every single Guy Fawkes night on November 5th.
Surely there must be a better way to celebrate.

Hey Indy and Bogey, how was your potty break?

Pat, I know what you mean about being armed with a hose. Back when I was a kid, we would hose our roof just to make sure that nothing gets burned.

I'm with you. My sister had to keep her dog medicated, he'd get so scared.

I agree. Fireworks are against the law here. I only heard two go off this year. New Years we get a lot more law breakers but at least it is less of a fire hazard then.

One night is certainly enough. I don't know why people always have to get carried away!
