This 'N That

Yesterday our brown crunchy grass and fading flowers most gratefully received a long absent precious commodity...rain. It's been weeks since we've had any to speak of. Though not near what we need, it still made me feel like doing my best Gene Kelly routine, sans umbrella.

Rain, glorious rain. Please come back again!

Meanwhile, I don't know about anyone else, but I've been having tons of trouble the last few weeks with spam on Blogger. Nowhere else...just on Blogger. And unfortunately it's not just annoying spam. Some of it is annoying X-rated spam. Let me tell you, there's no greater thrill than having an explicit adult image creep onto the screen as I try to write a blog post or comment. Although the pictures could potentially be a weird sort of conversation piece (judging by some of the photos), they certainly don't do much for my concentration.
I've had my computer checked for viruses (none found) and installed a new security device. Yet a few not-so-nice anonymous comments have still sneaked through Blogger's spam filter, straight on to Critter Alley.

Indy, Bogey and I are appalled and pretty much completely grossed out. Long story short...we are now viewing all comments before posting them. Seriously, don't some people have anything better to do than send porn to critters and old ladies? If there's a presidential candidate who is willing to take on spammers, they will certainly get my vote.

Is anyone else having problems with spam on Blogger?

Glad you got some rain. Keep dancing maybe it will help.
As far as the SPAM. I have not had a problem, yet. Keeping my paws crossed it stays that way.
Blessings,
Goose

Me thinks all spammers should be sent to a special kind of hell, and not the one me comes from!
Me thinks these evil peoples must have found something that is vulnerable, lets hope the geeks at Google can figure it out and get it stopped!

I have not received picture pop ups, but I have received rantings with coded words in capital letters which I delete right away.

Very pleased you have some much needed rain!
I have had a few spammers on our blog, but it seems to work quite well when I marked them as spam.

So far, Lady and I haven't been troubled by this disgusting turn of events! However, forewarned is forearmed, and I'll be keeping a closer check on my blog! Tomorrow Lady goes for her regular buffing and fluffing...which has nothing to do with anything...except maybe these spammers' minds need some heavy-duty cleaning!! Ewwwww!

Can't say that I've had any trouble with Spam, but then I've been out of the loop for a bit. But really, what are (spam) people thinking???

That's really creepy about the pictures! I too have had some disturbing comments that I delete right away. And a few very generic comments in broken English, and if you click on the name, it takes you to an advertisement. I delete those, too.

Knock on wood I haven't had this problem. Good luck with getting it fixed.

Nice to meet you on Donna's blog.

I agree with you 100% on the
spammers. They are filthy sometimes too. If they come after me, I'll do the same thing you are doing.
