Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
Bailey is a senior girl looking for her forever home. Doesn't she have a sweet face? Don't worry about her gray muzzle. It would scare you to know how gray I'd be if it weren't for the skills of my hairdresser. And just like us older people, older dogs make pretty awesome companions.
October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog month. If you're considering adding a dog to your family, please visit a shelter first. You'll find dogs of all colors, shapes and sizes. Young and old. Purebred and Heinz 57. Out there somewhere is the perfect fit. He/she is watching the door right now and waiting for you.
Sweet Bailey is one of many dogs available for adoption at Five Acres Animal Shelter. Here's a link to dogs at the shelter who want nothing more than a family to love:

Meanwhile we continue to have lovely weather. I think it's our reward from surviving an obscenely hot and dry summer. Whatever the reason, I'm loving the cool temperatures. It feels great to eat a bowl of chili and lounge around the house in a well-worn cotton sweatshirt.
And can you think of a more perfect time of year to take a long walk with your four-footed best friend?

Bailey is beautiful. We feel so bad for the senior pups

Hope Bailey and all the other shelter dogs find good homes soon, they so deserve them!

Stay cool and we too are having cooler weather. Nice for just being indoors warm and toasty. Have a lovely Monday.
Best wishes Molly
oh my gosh, Pat...the last two times I've gone to PetSmart, they've had different Rescue Shelters there with doggies to adopt! I always wish I could take all of them home with me. Maybe someday I'll own a farm....!
Hope you find that little stinker a good home. He looks so sweet. Don't tell my daughter - she already has four dogs!
I think shelter pets are the very best. And they never seem to forget, either.
My son's girlfriend is a nurse, and one of her elderly patients was going into hospice and fretting over what would become of her 10-year-old Havanese, because who wants a dog that old? Well, my son and his girl adopted the pooch and are so happy they did. She's a sweet pooch who has proven that love is ageless...
Bailey is so sweet. My grandkiddos want another dog, but after we lost Heidi (a stray our neighbor found abandoned in the country and we "adopted"), Harley (our black Lab) is all I can handle.
That's really nice of you. It sounds like a nice way to celebrate November. We will see what we can do.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
I pray she finds her forever home! I just saw a photo of a dear, gray-muzzled dog on Pinterest with the caption "It takes a long time for a soul to become this sweet..."
Hugs,
Anne
