Well, I'm sorry to report that getting a little pig is not going to happen for two reasons.
1. Our neighborhood association refuses to allow farm animals to become residents. And they define any sort of pig as a "farm animal". Even if it's litter box trained (I asked).
2. I read a post from a former pot-bellied pig owner. It seems when his little piggie became a 100 pound porker, it began to try and nibble off the family members' toes. A tragedy like that would surely put an end to wearing flip flops, and I own way too many flip flops to risk the inability to use them as a result of missing toes.
Though I'm sad about abandoning my new dream of a miniature pig, I did get some news yesterday that cheered me considerably. My true story, "Free Labor, Anyone?" will appear in Not Your Mother's Book on Home Improvement, scheduled for a September release. Gotta love the newly designed cover...
While it's not exactly a cutie-patootie miniature pig, a new book title is still pretty darn exciting. And there's one more bonus. Now I don't need to remove the B from my BLT.

Pat--That is too bad. I figured we could find a litter and we could each get one. ;)
Congratulations on the additional notch in your publication belt. I'm sure your story is a funny one.
Congratulation on keeping your little piggies even if you're not getting a future big piggy. And a big congratulations on the book!
We have a piggy blog friend. Seems like a lot of work raising a mini pig.
Our place won't allow one even though we want a mini pig

That is so hilarious! Nibble off people's toes - are you sure you want a pet that tries to eat you?
Many congrats on the book

LOL BLTs all round then. Have a serene Sunday and stay cool.
Best wishes Molly
ha, that is funny and also congrats to you!
Congrats, Pat! So happy for you! I swear, our part of the country has a large group of very talented writers! (And I love the new covers, too.)
So sorry about the little piggie, but I'd rather stick with something a little softer....like a cat, dog, rabbit, etc! :)
Congratulations on your inclusion in the book! Sorry about the little piggy though . . .
Congrats on the book - and the new cover is nice! Also, my husband had a pot-bellied pig back in the day, and after it ate all of his custom made shirts, he sent it to a farm. It ended up being huge. Miniature pot belly pigs don't really stay small. Mmm, now I want a BLT.
Sorry you won't be getting your little piggy.
Big congrats on your pub credit.
Love the cover.
Have you considered a Hedgehog...Hog being the key word?
So happy for you on your inclusion in the Not Your Mother's Book! So sorry about the piggy, though...
