It's a mystery I've never been able to figure out. A cat is attracted to any type of box like a magnet to steel. Does a box represent security? Comfort? Some sort of crazy kitty clubhouse? There has to be a reason for this behavior.
I can't help but wonder what strange compulsion drives a feline to climb inside an empty box...no matter how small the box, or how big the cat.

Love the pictures! Don't have an answer for why, but boxes and kitties just seem to go together. (And don't forget paper grocery bags, my cats have had lots of fun with those, too.)
LOL enjoy your box kitties big and small. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Best wishes Molly
I think it's the curiosity thing--they're curious about what's in the box (like what's in the paper bag).
I'm also amazed how fond cats are of pieces of paper that are arranged on a table or desk--pieces of paper that you are working with. They like to sit right in the middle of the piece of paper, thwarting any efforts you have to looking at it.
Yes, cats are animals with puzzling behavior, but that is one of many reasons why we love them...
We never ever did think of this before.
Haha! You're so right! And bags, too -- my cats love to climb inside any sort of bag. I always think it's a riot when they think they're sneaky and hiding, but their tails stick out. :)
Ha, that is the funniest thing ever! It must be like some kind of feline compulsion.

I like boxes... CHEWING THEM UP!
I love the pictures! I don't think anyone truly knows the answer to this question.
