December Snow 2013

The neighbors were treated this morning to the sight of me in my big fluffy robe, sweep-shoveling a pathway to the grass for Indy. We have at least 7 inches on the ground and the snow is still coming down hard enough to wet my hair and dampen my shoulders as I worked. It's a beautiful wet heavy snow, coating trees and bushes like frosting on a gingerbread house. Perfect for Christmas.

When I finished shoveling, I filled the bird feeder with seed. It's hard for my little feathered friends to find food when snow is this deep. But not to worry. Dozens of them are currently enjoying a smorgasbord breakfast.

I hoped to finish up my Christmas shopping today, but looks like plans will be postponed for a while. So I'll fix a cup of hot chocolate instead and join Bogey at the window.

We both like to bird watch.

Bird watching is better than shopping anyway. Well, we've never been shopping but we know it involves getting in the car and that's stressful by itself! Hope you have a great day with your fur-babies!

OMD that is some snow. Glad you have managed to do all your shopping. No last minute rush for you. Have a super Saturday.
Best wishes Molly

Hi Y'all!

Snow is beautiful when you don't have to go outside in it.

Y'all come by now,

Lucky you getting snow. We got at least 4 inches of solid ice which was no fun at all.
Hope you're staying cozy.

That is a very good plan.
If I'd have seen you shovelling snow in your robe and filling up the bird feeder I would have smiled and thought 'at least there is one nice person in the world!'

I too, trotted out in my fuzzy robe and swished a path with my broom. That was some snowfall, wasn't it? We had to cancel our multi-author CS book signing at Main Street Books.

No snow here in Georgia, just a ton of rain. Our bird feeder has been very busy this morning, and yesterday there were two squirrels who managed to find a way onto it---no small feat, and they both ended up falling two stories down because once they got onto the bird feeder there was no other way down (they dropped from the roof to get on!).

The snow was pretty... glad my husband has a plow for our LONG driveway... The deer seem to be enjoying the weather always coming to the pond for a drink. I'm sure your pooch appreciated your hard work!

Hi Pat! I sure smiled while reading this! It's been a bit of a challenge taking Vern outside. At our other house, we had a chain that hooked right at our sliding door, so we could just clip it onto his collar and off he'd go! Now, it's getting all bundled up and trekking through the "way over the ankle" snow!
