Yesterday Winston had his third follow-up visit post-surgery. The vet says he's doing well, but told me I should still keep him on leash or crated except when I'm able to closely supervise him.
Oops. He's been off leash since the first week after surgery, with me scrambling around to keep him under control. Hopefully I can keep Winston from self-destruction over another fourteen days because that's when we have our (hopefully) final appointment. The vet says if everything looks good, Winston will be taken off restriction.
Winston, of course, doesn't feel he should ever have been on any sort restriction at all, and is offended over my helicopter pet parent ways.
What do you mean, we can't wrestle?
I think this poor puppy has given up on ever being allowed to have fun again. He hasn't gone to puppy day care, been in a training class, or strolled through delicious goose poop in more than a month.
Geez, Mom, whatever happened to the good old days?

You just wait. He will make up for lost time.
He's looking good! No cone, didn't see any bandages, so glad he's on the mend. Fingers crossed all goes well for the next two weeks, then you and he can get back to normal.
What a wonderful doggy-mama you are. He looks happy and healthy---and, yes, a little put out. lol But that will change soon. Fortunately for us humans, our fur-babies have short memories for this sort of thing. The moment he's set completely free he'll forget he ever had an issue. I'm glad you're nearing the end of his recovery.
Soon Winston - soon!!! you will be playing!!!

Oh! I hope it passes quickly!!! Soon Winston! Soon!!!
He does look like he's pouting a bit, but I'm sure he will make up for lost time. I'm sure if you filled his crate with treats, he wouldn't mind being crated...
Glad he is doing well, and it's a good sign that he wants to be active!
He's lucky he has mom watching out for him and keeping him out of mischief.
