Let the Battle Begin

Every month I order Indy's "magic" potion...Denosyl. Denosyl helps support his liver function. I buy it through Amazon, as the cost is approximately half what the vet's office charges. For the past 2.5 years this process has gone without a hitch. Today, not so much.

Indy got his last pill yesterday. The new order STILL hadn't arrived, so I clicked on the "Track my package" tab and discovered the following:

1. It went to a wrong address.
2. The package is damaged (presumably by the people at the wrong address who are sick of having someone else's mail delivered to them).
3. My order is now considered undeliverable and was sent back to the seller as of July 23.
4. Nobody bothered to tell me any of this.

I contacted Amazon and did a "Live chat" with Jabbar.

Me: My order still hasn't arrived. Apparently there have been some issues. Where is my Denosyl?
(2 minutes later)
Jabbar: I am most sorry that you had to contact us for this problem. I will look for what is wrong. This will take me a few short moments.
(Five minutes later)
Jabbar: I am most sorry to say your package was delivered to the wrong address.
Me: My address is the same address I've always had. Why did it go to the wrong address?
Jabbar: (ignores my question) I also see that your package has received damage. We cannot deliver a package with damage.
(Considering I just received a light fixture from Amazon in a box that looked like it had been worked over by a baseball bat, I call this a distraction tactic)
Me: I understand there were problems with the order, but no one has notified me about any of these things. Now you're telling me the order was sent back. Are you saying my dog's medicine isn't coming?
(3 minutes later)
Jabbar: That is correct. Your order is canceled and you will get a refund. I would ask you to please place another order.
Me: So I have to start over again to get my dog's medicine? How could all these things happen and no one bothers to tell me? I could have re-ordered the Denosyl days ago if I knew this.
Jabbar: I am most sorry about this inconvenience. Please place your order again.
Me: Oh, no, Jabbar. Not a snowball's chance.

So I drove to the vet's office and paid top dollar for Indy's Denosyl. He's now got his meds and I'm on the search for a new supplier. Amazon sends me more junk emails than all the other advertisers put together, yet they can't notify me they've decided to cancel my order. An order for medicine.

Amazon, this means war.

Pat--Maybe you can team up with Tammy. Together, you two can battle Dell and Amazon.

What rubbish service. We use Viovet here and only once had a problem. The heart drugs for Pip are expensive but they sent us a new order free. Then the old order turned up so being honest we called them and paid for that too. Hope you find a new supplier. Good luck. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

Pat, I'm really surprised about this. I've NEVER had a problem with Amazon. Other companies....oh, don't get me started! LOL

Don't u just hate contacting customer service! I agree, they should have emailed you to let you know there was a problem with delivery or that it was damaged, or so forth.

I love how you said Not a Snowballs Chance... LOL

You won't believe this.... Other than my Kindle and Books for it... we have NEVER EVER ordered ANYTHING from Amazon.

We are sooooooo sorry that this has happened to you.

Jabbar might need ANOTHER call from you.

We have never had a problem with Amazon for anything so must have been the individual supplier.
Hope you get everything sorted out.

OMG that exact thing happened to us yesterday. A package of meds was deliversd to our address, same house numbers, wrong street. So we hand delivered it. The woman said her husband had just had seven stents put in and needed that medicine desperately. She'd received other people's mail so often she called the PO and they told her to throw it away. Can you imagine! I have a notion where my lost paycheck went three weeks ago.

Grrr . . . that growl is on behalf of you and Indy. Shame on Amazon for poor customer service. It seems that the bigger they are the worse they behave. Sheer numbers gives them the leeway to treat customers in a lackadaisical way that smaller companies can't get away with. We had a similar problem with one of my daughter's college textbooks (it never did show up). Glad you have an alternate source for Indy's meds. Of course, there was never a doubt in his mind you'd take prefect care of him. :)

Sioux is right; I feel your pain. Though at least my issue didn't have to do with a loved one's health. So glad your dog has survived this ordeal - and you too!

I'm guessing that if this had been a phone call, the person you were speaking to would have had a difficult to understand Indian accent. There doesn't seem to be any such thing as customer service any more. Glad you got it sorted out. The post office is no different. My passport was delivered to the same number but a different road. Fortunately the person who received it was kind enough to drive to my house and deliver it to me because he thought it looked important. Apparently the mail carrier didn't think it was!

Feel your pain. My daughter just told me I should consider not using Amazon as pretty soon they'll put everyone out of business and then they'll be able to charge whatever they want and get away with it. Something to ponder.
